Mount Bromo, A Beautiful Volcano Destination in Indonesia
Mount Bromo is one of the best volcanoes tourist destinations in Indonesia. It is located inBromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park in East Java. Mount Bromo also is one of part massif Tengger most visited tourist attraction because Bromo is an active volcano and more easily visited.
Mount Bromo park is a natural phenomenon that is not found in other places such as the crater in the crater with the spread of sand-sea that surrounded. For you who want to take much closer and smell of volcanic smoke you have climb to peak first. After climbing the peak usingthe stairs you will be presented the view of Bromo crater scene with a puff of smoke coming out from caldera (marks it’s still active).
From here tourist can enjoy the Bromo crater with a thin cloud of smoke, and to the back you can see the beautiful panorama spread of sand sea with a fascinating natural silhouette.

Temperatures on Mount Bromo reach 10°C and even up to 0°C during the morning. Regular visitor come to this area since the early days with the aim of seeing the rising sun. You have to climb Mount Pananjakan which is the highest mountain in this area before you can enjoy the beautiful sunrise. To get to Mount Pananjakan is quite heavy. You have to go through a desert that can make you get lost. The narrow streets and blind turning require a high driving skill. Meanwhile, many guests choose to rent a Jeep car (4wd Cars) driven by the Tengger people.
After sunrise the sunlight can make you see the scenery around. Arid areas filled with sand and covered only a little hay and Gust of wind making the sand fly and make this area so beautiful.
Kasado Ritual by Tengger Tribe
Another attraction in Bromo is continuity of rituals highlight the Tengger tribe that is a toss of the earth as offerings to the crater of Mount Bromo. The ceremony is what attract tourists to witness the event that only lasted one year.
Kasado ceremony is a big day for the Tengger people to commemorate the victory of Dharma defeat Adharma. The ceremony was held on full moon according to the Tengger tribe calendar. The ceremony was held at the Poten temple in sea of sand and Mount Bromo. In the Kasadoceremony was made ritual offerings called Ongkek ( a semicircular bamboo decorated with 30 kinds of fruit and cake). Material to make Ongkek is taken from the village for a year that no citizens had died. When given a mantra, this Ongkek by a shaman thrown into the crater ofMount Bromo.
